How to Become Easy Slim: Eat Slower

've Tried tried various diet programs but still hard to lose weight? Then there is no harm in trying this new method. It is very easy, namely eating more slowly.
Recent research found that people who are overweight eat faster than lean people, and men faster than women chew. Researchers from the also see that the refined grains consumed faster than the healthy grains.
The Obesity Society's annual meeting in Orlando, Florida, researchers presented findings that people who ate fast food consumed about 3.1 ounces per minute, people who ate 2.5 ounces with a meal medium per minute, and slow eaters consume 2 ounces of food per minute .
Men eat about 80 calories per minute, while a woman about 52 calories per minute. Interestingly, men who call themselves the slow eaters eat at the same level as the woman who claims to be a fast eater.
"Gender differences obviously affected. Maybe he has a bigger mouth, but also may be associated with higher energy needs. Another possibility may relate to social norms, women may feel compelled to eat more slowly," said the study's authors, Kathleen Melanson, director of the Energy Balance Laboratory at the University of Rhode Island.
A second study found a strong relationship between speed of eating and body mass index (BMI). People with high BMI usually eat much more quickly than with a lower BMI. BMI is a calculation based on height and weight. The researchers also observed that participants who ate food from cereal grains such as wheat and rye bread to eat more slowly than those eating the same foods made from refined grains.
"Whole grains require more time for chewing and digestion begins in the mouth. So if you eat something that has been processed, do not take much time to digest. The seeds require more time to split," said Lona Sandon, assistant professor of nutrition health at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.
But can eating fast train himself to slow down her eating?
"I think changing the feeding speed will not be easy because it is an innate characteristic, but worth a try. Allow extra food in the mouth. Let food to the stomach before taking the next bite," said Melanson as reported HealthDay.com, Friday (11/25/2011).

The Possibly Unsafe Side Effects of Plant based Dieting Products

If you give any attention to slimming products, then you are well aware about the hundreds of available products. Make no mistake that diet supplement makers know all about the power of so called all-natural products. Not surprisingly using that information in marketing and advertising is powerful. There are many genuine and possible problems with this scenario. While many individuals tend to be more informed than ever, you may still find millions who place a lot of faith when they read, natural. So people simply read a product has natural ingredients and they use it. Just about any natural, or herbal, compound can have side effects when used, and you'll find other issues associated with traditional medicines. Another likely problem exists because some people may be sensitive or susceptible to side effects while some may not.

Then we next arrived at a subject which has been debated and causes great concern among health professionals. A lot of all the natural products on the market have not been subjected to medical scrutiny. Sometimes you will see references to studies, but be cautious that the study has not been bought and paid for. Needless to say there is a conflict of interest in this situation for the research or testing service. The result is perhaps always a positive outcome for the natural compound that is tested. The honesty involved are questioned, and they cannot be defended by either side. The clear probable loser in these products are the individuals who buy and take them.

You will not find very many of these ingredients that have even been carefully analyzed by a reliable organization. One exception is ephedra when used in combination with caffeine simply because actually provide results for weight loss. The US Food and Drug Administration eventually banned ephedra because people became seriously ill and some died from using it. Most recently a new replacement emerged, Hoodia was launched in the marketplace amidst significant amounts of marketing and hype. Fortunately, some solid investigation has been done on hoodia, but definitely not enough. What is known about this dieting plant is some could be at risk if they take it. The way hoodia is effective is it stops the ability for the brain to recognize thirst and hunger sensations. If you've got any medical conditions, and even if you don't, it is best to find out all you can before using it.

Here is a great example of what can happen with unproven, untested plant based fat reduction ingredients. This happened in Belgium, and what happened is approximately seventy people had failure in their kidneys when they took an herbal diet product. Another percentage of people sustained long term kidney problems. When some kidneys had been taken out and examined, they were discovered to have precancer and also actual cancer problems. After study, it was learned that the manufacturer made an error during the process and used the wrong active organic substance.

There isn't any doubt that herbs have their place in alternative treatments. The issue is anybody who prefers to take them must become informed before using any herbal product. Unfortunately there will almost always be a portion of people who will never exercise good judgment in these situations.
